“The Brooklin House is exactly as advertised. It’s beautiful, gorgeously decorated and stunningly situated. We were two families of four and we were perfectly comfortable for the week. Loved frisbee games on the back lawn, grilling out with s’mores and exploring this amazing part of Maine. Striking distance for day trips to Acadia and Camden, which are both worth a visit. Would highly recommend and hope to stay again!”

It was located on a bay with lots of privacy and there was plenty of room for a family to take part in Badmington and wiffle ball or to just explore the shore looking for crabs. The house is immaculate with space for families to play games or find a little spot for reading. Brooklin is close to some small towns including Blue Hill (15 minute) that has several small shops, grocery store, pharmacy and a handful of restaurants where we enjoyed some morning treats. Acadia is about 60 minutes away and Deer Isle is about 30 minutes away, both worth a trip. There are some great places to explore and hike close by but you need to do some research to find them. If you’re looking for an opportunity to get away from the noise and enjoy the outdoors, this is a great place to call home.”

"We loved our stay and we had a great host. We had absolutely everything we needed and Loved the area too. The house was immaculate! Kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc… Can’t think of one thing that Victoria missed. Our family thought the location was wonderful. We visited Acadia each day, spending time hiking and enjoying Maine’s gorgeous coast and fantastic seafood. The drive to Acadia from Brooklin was pleasant. There is also a trail that is just 1.5 miles down the road from the house (Harriman Point.) We walked there a couple of times. At the point we spotted 6 seals playing and fishing, a bald eagle and a porcupine. The road (Flye Pint) was quiet and safe for an early morning jog. All in all the accommodations were perfect. Clean, quiet, beautiful and roomy. I would recommend this to anyone."

"This home is a dream – the location on Maine’s coast could not be better. The place was immaculate inside and out and we had many a delightful morning and evening taking in the extraordinary surroundings from the kitchen & living room. Victoria has taken care of everything you could possible need within the house, and her info about the surrounding areas is comprehensive and thoughtful. The place was wonderful and so peaceful. "Brooklin House is beautiful and elegant, yet comfortable and homey. There were so many nice touches – the basement with a game table and an enormous collection of games, ping pong table and TV room. We loved the well-equipped kitchen, the grill and the firepit. A herb garden near the grill added delightful touches to more elaborate meals. The weather and furniture were perfect for eating outside. Being there for a full two weeks really gave us a chance to enjoy the property and take short trips to several nearby small towns. We enjoyed activities in Bar Harbor while having a space that was peaceful and relaxing. It was close to Acadia National Park, Fort Knox, lobster bakes, mini golf and a variety of tours on boats and carriages. We set up the badminton net and played volley ball or badminton every day. We made use of the huge yard and enjoyed the beautiful landscaping. We played in the water, swam and paddle-boarding was a hit. We loved the animals with the deer running across the lawns in the early morning, otters, woodchucks, porcupines, chipmunks and a myriad of birds. The large glass windows allowed both a relaxing view from the living room, kitchen and several bedrooms and a covered porch let is sit outside with binoculars and study each animal. Animals were peaceful and entertaining but wandered away whenever we approached. The owner and care taker were responsive and delightful to work with. We will return!"

"We stayed at the Brooklin House for the second straight year in a row. We have absolutely loved staying in such a thoughtfully decorated home with stunning views. Waking up to have breakfast on the patio with stunning water views is memorable and we plan on staying again next year. This year we had another couple stay with us and utilized the basement to play ping pong and darts for good time fun! Lastly, the kitchen screams to be cooked in. We cooked most nights in this time to take advantage of the kitchen, including a proper lobster boil! Would recommend this home to anyone looking to disconnect into the natural beauty of Maine while also having access to lovely restaurants and fresh food nearby."

"We enjoyed staying at the Brooklin House. It was beautiful and comfortable, plus a beautiful view.Our daughter got married at nearby Lookout Inn and had her bridesmaids and her join us and get ready for the wedding there and did her “first look” out on the point. Wonderful set up for that. For the wedding it was nice to be close and have a spacious place for our friends."

"Lovely house! Our family had a lovely stay at Brooklin House. The views are exceptional and we very much enjoyed being on the water for our 2 week stay. The house itself is comfortable and very nicely decorated. Tons of hot water, a special bug repellant device and whole house water filtration were all excellent contributions to our experience. Victoria is a lovely host, she was responsive and proactive about all our needs and we would definitely recommend this rental to others hoping to stay in Brooklin!"

"This is an incredible home. My only hesitation on giving it every 5 star available, was when I was asked if the property was accurately reflected by VRBO my answer was NO, this property exceeded our expectations?! The owner has incredible design skills and this house reflects them. She picked an unbelievable site with a spectacular view and artfully designed around those peaceful water views. The property is ideal for more than one family if you include the penthouse in your stay. I began looking for our next opportunity to rent this gorgeous home on the first day we arrived. Gratefully."

"This is a beautiful home on a very private piece of waterfront property. The local manager is exceptional and responds to questions very quickly. We cooked our evening meals in and this kitchen had everything you would need. They also have spices and other kitchen basics which we appreciated. We were only two couples and the home was very comfortable providing spaces to sit to read, play games, or just enjoy the beautiful views. The furnishings are high quality and the homes décor is 5 star. We grilled out a few evenings and the Weber grill and outdoor seating is wonderful. We rented the entire home so each couple had a wonderful master suite. Having the Penthouse as an option is nice because you can pick what works best for your group. There is a very nice hiking path about 1.5 miles from the home. We really enjoyed our visit and this home."

"All I can say is “wow!” This house is truly amazing. It is exceptionally well appointed and beautifully done. The lot and the view are just fantastic. It’s so private and peaceful with an amazing waterfront setting. Brooklin is a delightful little town, but you’re still close enough to Deer Isle and Acadia for day trips. We rented kayaks and started most of our days with morning kayaking around the secluded little bay. We can’t say enough good things about this house."

"From its stunning water views to chic design, Brooklin House is an absolute gem. We couldn’t believe how much thought and care Victoria and her team had put into restoring this beautiful house: not only is it thoughtfully laid out and designed, but careful pains have been taken to be sure guests have everything they need to feel totally at home. We loved our time cosying up by the fire, cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, foraging for shells on the shore at low tide and playing games in the living room. Such a wonderful escape even in the dead of winter. Thanks again to Victoria and her team for such a lovely stay…we’d love to come back!"

"We spent a wonderful week with our family at Brooklin House! The house is beautifully decorated and even lovelier than the photos. The lawn is perfect for wiffle ball or frisbee (lots of outdoor and indoor games are available with the rental), and we enjoyed a few fires in the fire pit, as well as grilling dinner. Blue Hill is 15 minutes away, with a great grocery co-op, drug store, bookstore, brewery, and shopping. Victoria was very easy to reach, and responded quickly when we had questions. The location is great for day trips to Castine, Blue Hill, Stonington and Acadia, and there is a nice hiking trail down the street from the house. We would love to stay at Victoria’s house again!"

"The Brooklin House exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed our stay and made special memories with our families that will last a lifetime. Highly recommend Johnson’s for fresh fish to cook at home. We had fun visiting Stonington, Bar Harbor and doing a lobster boat tour. The house is beautifully decorated and prepped to meet all our needs. Boys loved kayaking in Herrick Bay and playing baseball in the field and discovering all kinds of low-tide “Mud creatures!” Can’t wait to come back!”

“Please don't miss this review or you might miss your favorite vacation of all time. This may seem strange to read as you look at locations for your coastal visit, but I would plan my future vacation dates around the availability of this listing! I am not just saying this as one satisfied traveler. Once in the house you can flip through the guestbook and see that everyone plans to come back. So much of a vacation is where you are going, but in the case of "Mole Cottage", the place you are staying may become your favorite part of the trip. This is 5 star all the way! In a word “relaxation” in conclusion – “Just go!”

“Let me start by saying that I cannot recommend the Brooklin House enough to anyone wishing to travel to the gorgeous Atlantic Northeast. The house itself is perfect for any type of group, family, friends, or other. The
coastal setting is breathtaking and the house is cozy and secluded. The downstairs playroom has everything needed to entertain the whole family for hours too!
The house is perfectly located for making day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, while keeping you out of the fray when you want some peace and quiet. Uniquely, it is also perfect for visiting the must-see Penobscot Narrows Bridge and historic Fort Knox (make sure you stop at the Friars Taproom in Bucksport for the best Sunday brunch of your life if you make the drive out that way).
And if you are looking for a close bite to eat, the quant, picturesque Brooklin Inn has a great menu, beautiful outdoor dining, and a cozy basement pub that makes you feel toasty warm in even the coldest Down East winters.
Kind locals, a sweet host (Victoria is the best!), and an amazing landscape make the trip to the Brooklin House one that you will never forget.”

“The Brooklin House was an outstanding stay for myself and my family. I was looking for a relaxing getaway from the chaos of Southern California and this home was the most picturesque escape. During the day, the views from the home are stunning, and the gazebo is perfect for quiet reading time. The full kitchen, grill, fire pit, and outdoor dining area were perfect for family dinners and s’mores. After dinner, we enjoyed the game room, equipped with a ping pong table.
The property is nestled in the most adorable town, with a charming general store, boutiques, and even a delightful candy shop. The Brooklin Boatyard's tour was an unforgettable experience. The home is also a short drive from multiple activities and sights, including Acadia National Park, Penobscot Narrows Bridge, Bar Harbor, and Mount Desert. We loved the ability to access tourism attractions without staying near the crowds.
Victoria was an attentive, responsive, and gracious host with recommendations and connections galore. The locals were all friendly and helpful as well. This was the perfect getaway, and we loved the house so much! We can’t wait to come here for years to come!”

“After a week-long stay in the Brooklin House, I have nothing but raving reviews to share. The location of this house is wonderful as water surrounds the large grass-covered backyard. Perfect for fishing or taking time to relax in the gazebo while enjoying the vast view. There were a variety of activities to enjoy both at the Brooklin House and in the surrounding town. Corn hole competitions and badminton rallies were a popular events for us on this trip and the backyard at the Brooklin House was the perfect place to enjoy some fun.
While outdoor activities were a big hit for us, going below deck to the game room was a nightly occasion for our stay. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated, easily taking you to that relaxed vacation mindset. The Brooklin House is an excellent location with close proximity to restaurants, the market, and many beautiful sightseeing views. Brooklin House is well secluded and peacefully quiet. My first trip to Maine was delightful and the Brooklin House was always a joy to come back to after a day out.”

“Our large family had the most amazing week at the Brooklin House. We arrived to a sparkling clean and perfectly decorated coastal home. Everything about it was remarkable and no detail had been overlooked.
Throughout our week’s stay we took full advantage of the chef’s kitchen and BBQ to cook our meals. The fire pit was the perfect place to end the day with sticky S’mores. There was so much to do at Brooklin House! Whether we were playing corn hole, volleyball, badminton, fishing, clamming, sunbathing or just relaxing with a book in the gazebo, the outdoor spaces did not disappoint.
Inside the home, we also were constantly entertained. “Below Deck” afforded us a place to sing, dance, compete at ping pong, play games, puzzles and watch movies on the coziest couch. A separate sink and
refrigerator really made it an after dinner venue, not to be missed.
The town of Brooklin, itself, is a quintessential charming American town. We had delicious food and drinks at The Brooklin Inn (reservations are a good idea). The country market had all of the essentials. Leaf & Anna is a gift shop and bookstore not to be missed. There’s even a candy store that delighted our crowd. Do not miss the Brooklin Boatyard - it was the highlight of the town for us.
The homeowner, Victoria, was the most gracious host. She was super responsive to any request and could not have been more accommodating throughout our week-long stay. The Brooklin House was hands-down the nicest vacation rental we have ever had. Book it! You won’t regret it!.”
